Hunyadi L谩szl贸 is a historical grand opera from Hungary. The epic covers the life and death of the 15th-century soldier and politician, Hunyadi L谩szl贸, son of J谩nos Hunyadi who defended Hungary against the attacks of the Ottoman Turks. When the new weak King, L谩szl贸 V, takes a shine to M谩ria, L谩szl贸's fianc茅e, the young man is arrested and his fate is sealed. The executioner鈥檚 axe falls - several times - on one of opera鈥檚 most grizzly finales.
